Soul In Motion

Soul In Motion is a record label, Drum & Bass club night and DJ agency brought to you by Bailey and Need For Mirrors.

As one of London’s most influential club nights, Soul In Motion carefully select their solid line ups through utilising decades of knowledge and by having an ear to the ground in the industry when looking for emerging talent.

From the beginnings of a monthly mid-week gathering where underground producers, DJs and heads can unite through understanding the importance of trying new things, Soul In Motion are now hosting events at some of the most respected venues across Europe including Fabric London, Gretchen Berlin, Sub Club Glasgow and Motion Bristol.

The backbone of Soul In Motion takes place at Borderline Soho, London on the first and third Thursday of each month. Sunday Sessions are hosted at 93 Feet East London on the second Sunday of every month and a quarterly residency is held at Rotunde Bochum, Germany.

Few DJs can claim to be an original architect of the Drum & Bass scene and still be operating at the cutting edge more than 20 years later, but DJ Bailey is one of them.

Resident Metalheadz DJ, co-founder of Soul In Motion Ldn, Serato Artist and Mi-Soul radio, BBC Radio 1Xtra, BBC Radio 1, Ministry of Sound Radio presenter and original Inta-warrior, Bailey’s sets today are as full of fresh and innovative music are they were in 1995 when Kemistry & Storm recruited him for Goldie’s now-legendary Blue Note Sunday Sessions. Whether in a club, on radio or online, Bailey’s commitment to shining a light on exciting new musical talent is beyond question.

With turntable & selection skills second-to-none, Bailey is an alchemist in the mix. His ability to adapt to any crowd in any environment justifies his reputation as one of the finest DJs in the world. From the most menacing of techstep to the most liquid of funk, Bailey’s unparalleled knowledge and love of D&B shines through in every electrifying set, gaining him the respect and admiration of audiences from Australia to Japan to Canada and right across Europe.

Need For Mirrors

With an armoury of releases stretching from Metalheadz to Spearhead to V records to Shogun and, together with Bailey, as one of the founders of legendary London D&B night Soul In Motion, Need For Mirrors requires little introduction.

After moving to the UK from his New Zealand home in 2003, Joe Moses created his Need For Mirrors project in 2010 and a year later formed his own label, Zoltar, a platform that allowed him to promote his passion for vinyl and high-quality artwork.

Need For Mirrors’ relentless output of excellent, original material together with a slew of remixes & collaborations has secured his reputation as a major contributor to the cutting edge of Drum & Bass.
